Your role
The research scientist will be appointed to the university on a full-time basis and will have a participatory role in building and coordinating Midwifery education and research under the direct supervision of Pr. Ghanchi. This academic position will have responsibilities split between teaching, research and administrative duties, with a primary focus on teaching duties. Involvement in professional clinical activity may be considered.
Teaching responsibilities:
The holder of this position is expected to assist with the development and teaching in the Bachelor's programs in health (midwifery sciences, nursing sciences, medicine), with a primary focus on the four year Midwifery Sciences Bachelor program. The holder will be involved in the selection of students, the establishment of the training plan, preparation and teaching of midwifery students, coordination and organization of theoretical and practical teaching, the evaluation of course, in close cooperation with the Midwifery Sciences Study director, teachers and tutors of the clinical placements. Participation in student dissertation supervisory committees.
Research responsibilities:
The holder of this position will have the possibility to develop research projects according to his/her expertise and interests that are within the scope of the Midwifery Sciences research laboratory activities. Research in collaboration with internal partners from the various Faculties and Interdisciplinary Centres, as well as with national and international partners will be encouraged.
Administrative responsibilities:
The holder of this position is expected to assist with administrative duties for the development of other teaching activities in Midwifery Sciences and future health programs.
Your profile
- A Midwifery degree with a minimum of 10 years clinical experience (preferably in Luxembourg)
- A doctorate (PhD) in a related scientific discipline
- Postdoctoral experience and a proven track record of applying for research grants
- Field experience in Midwifery education, including theoretical teaching and clinical supervision of trainees
- Knowledge of contemporary pedagogical practices
- Internationally recognized research experience as evidenced by international peer reviewed publications in the field of midwifery, public health or related fields
- Administrative and management experience in line with level of experience or organization of research seminars
- Connections to midwifery education /research departments in international universities and European midwifery societies
