The Role
As our Retail Manager – Operations, you’ll be at the helm of store operations, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and profitability across stock, data integrity, and key retail processes. You’ll oversee multiple department leaders and large teams, keeping everything running like a well-oiled machine. This role is initially rostered Tuesday to Saturday, but flexibility is key in the ever-changing world of retail.
What You’ll Bring
✔ Proven leadership experience in retail, FMCG, or DIY (big-box/large format preferred but not essential).
✔ A deep understanding of stock management, retail operations, and merchandising best practices.
✔ Strong commercial acumen—able to analyze sales data and optimize stock profitability.
✔ The ability to engage, coach, and develop large teams to perform at their best.
✔ Confidence in managing compliance, rostering, and operational standards.
✔ A proactive approach—quick-thinking and solutions-focused in a fast-paced setting.
✔ Ideally, you’ll be based in West Auckland, ensuring you can be hands-on and fully engaged in this role
Your Day-to-Day
- Lead and mentor multiple department leaders and their teams.
- Manage stock processes, including inventory control, pricing, and promotional planning.
- Ensure compliance with company operational standards across all areas.
- Oversee data integrity, reporting, and analysis to drive store efficiency.
- Take on duty management responsibilities, keeping everything running smoothly.
