Job Summary:

We are looking for a motivated and experienced full-time Retail Sales Assistant to join our Paint Department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in retail sales, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to contribute positively to the team environment.

Responsibilities:

• Provide expert product information and assist customers with selecting suitable paints, finishes, tools and accessories for their projects.
• Mix and tint paint accurately to achieve the correct colour matches and custom shades as requested by customers.
• Offer colour consultations and guidance to customers planning interior and exterior decorating projects.
• Give knowledgeable advice on painting applications for walls, ceilings, wood, metal and other surfaces, including preparation and aftercare.
• Operate tills and process financial transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Receive, check and store supplier deliveries, ensuring paint stock levels and tinting supplies are kept up to date.
• Merchandise paint products, colour charts and accessories, maintaining an attractive, well-organised department.
• Assist with inventory management, including restocking shelves, rotating stock and organising displays.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness in the paint department, including the tinting/mixing area.
• Resolve customer queries and provide practical solutions to paint and decorating-related issues.
• Assist in creating promotional displays and highlighting seasonal paint trends and offers.
• Ensure the department complies with all health and safety regulations, particularly regarding the safe handling and storage of paints and chemicals.
• Contribute to achieving departmental and store sales targets through excellent customer service and expert product knowledge.

Experience:

• 1+ year of retail sales experience, preferably in a general retail or customer-focused setting.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work 5 days a week, including Saturdays
