Store Manager – April and the Bear

April and the Bear is a bold, design-led lifestyle and interiors store, brimming with contemporary homewares, furniture, and gifting. We’re looking for a Store Manager who can match our energy — someone passionate about interiors, obsessed with creating an inspiring retail experience, and a natural leader with seriously high standards.

The Role:

As Store Manager, you’ll be the driving force behind our Rathmines store. You’ll lead with warmth but hold the team accountable, ensuring standards are sky-high at all times. From keeping the shop floor looking flawless to smashing sales targets, this role requires organisation, flexibility, and the ability to juggle it all with ease (and a smile).

Key Responsibilities:

• Day-to-day running of the store, ensuring it looks fabulous, functions smoothly, and feels welcoming for every customer.
• Leading, motivating, and training the team to deliver excellent customer service with a personal touch.
• Hitting sales targets and analysing performance to keep things moving in the right direction.
• Overseeing stock management: deliveries, inventory control, visual merchandising, and ensuring the shop floor always shines.
• Implementing store policies and processes, ensuring compliance with health & safety and company standards.
• Being a brand ambassador — living and breathing interiors and inspiring both customers and your team with your knowledge and passion.
• Organise rotas, schedules, and store operations with efficiency and ease.
• Supporting and collaborating with Director on marketing initiatives, events, and new product launches.

What We’re Looking For:

• Previous retail management experience, ideally in lifestyle, interiors, or fashion.
• An excellent people manager who can motivate, coach, and keep a team accountable.
• Sales-focused with a track record of hitting and exceeding targets.
• Organised and adaptable — able to juggle multiple priorities without breaking a sweat.
• High standards and attention to detail — you won’t settle for anything less than excellent.
• A passion for interiors and design — you’ll bring genuine enthusiasm and inspiration to customers.
• Personable, positive, enthusiastic, and flexible — the kind of manager who leads by example.
• Excellent communication and people skills — you love connecting with customers.
