Job Summary:
As a Sales Executive, you will represent our company’s food and beverage products, programs, and promotional activities at major Asian and ethnic grocery retailers within an assigned territory. Your primary focus will be to build and maintain strong relationships with retailers through regular in-person visits, driving product support through strategic pricing, optimal product placement, engaging promotions, and effective point-of-sale merchandising.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve targets.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with retailers and clients through sharing of market and supply chain information.
  • Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify business opportunities and threats.
  • Meet and exceed sales targets for assigned territories.
  • Conduct market research to identify optimum pricing as well as new business opportunities.
  • Provide quotations, negotiate payment terms, and work out the best delivery schedule.
  • Ensure prominent shelf displays and/or skid displays in order to gain maximum brand visibility.
  • Manage the return of damaged or expired goods based on customer-specific return policies.
  • Carry out merchandising functions like price-checking, back-room stock BBD checking, on-shelf FIFO monitoring, and the installing of POP materials from time to time.
  • Detect and report cross-selling and parallel goods.

Qualifications and Skills

  • 3 years+ sales experience, preferably in FMCG (fast moving consumer goods) or retail environment.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and critical thinking abilities.
  • Ability to work with little supervision and the ability to take initiative.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong work ethics and must uphold company culture.
  • General Education Diploma required; College Diploma or University Degree in Business or Merchandising preferred.
  • Proficient in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
  • Good mathematical skills in the day-to-day calculation of gross margin and markup.
  • Must hold a valid Ontario driver’s license and acceptable driver’s history and preferably knowledgeable of the GTA.
  • Not physically limited to the occasional lifting of 30+ pounds; in and out of a freezer, standing for an extended period of time and other regular sales-related activities.
