Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and organized School Librarian to manage the school library, promote reading habits among students, and support teaching and learning through effective library services. The librarian will maintain library resources, assist students and staff in accessing information, and create an engaging learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the school library.
• Organize, catalog, and maintain books, periodicals, digital resources, and other library materials.
• Assist students and teachers in locating and using library resources.
• Promote reading and literacy through library programs, book fairs, storytelling sessions, and reading activities.
• Develop and maintain an updated collection of books and educational materials.
• Issue and receive library books and maintain accurate records.
• Ensure proper shelving, inventory management, and preservation of library resources.
• Guide students in research, information literacy, and responsible use of information.
• Maintain a quiet, welcoming, and student-friendly library environment.
• Prepare reports on library usage, acquisitions, and inventory as required.
• Collaborate with teachers to support curriculum-related resource needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science, Library & Information Science, Education, or a related field.
• Master's degree in Library Science (preferred).
• Certification in Library Science is an added advantage.

Skills Required

• Knowledge of library management systems and cataloging practices.
• Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and staff.
• Proficiency in computer applications and digital library resources.
• Passion for reading and promoting literacy.

Experience

• 1–3 years of experience in a school, college, or public library preferred.
• Fresh graduates with relevant qualifications may also apply.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
