Security Advisor

The Opportunity

Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) is looking for a motivated Security Advisor to join the Global Security team. Applicants should have demonstrated experience in supporting and maintaining protective security in a Defence or Defence Industry role.

This role will be based at RAAF Base Williamtown.

As a Security Advisor, you will:

• Support BDA and its customers in the day-to-day operations and support program security requirements, responsibilities and compliance activities.
• Develop and maintain relationships with customers and Boeing staff.
• Manage daily and reactive security administrative tasks set by the Program and Function.
• Support the management of Boeing assets and facilities.
• Deliver Security briefings and training sessions regularly; and
• Support Emergency Management activities within Williamtown.

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

• Experience working as a Defence security specialist in a Defence Industry contractor or with the Australian Department of Defence is preferred but not essential
• General understanding of the Defence Security Principles Framework (DSPF), ASIO Tech Notes, and security practices and procedures relating to high security locations and programs
• Understanding of Australian Government Classified Information management
• Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to build trust and collaborative relationships with leadership, the customer and employees
• Current Defence Security Officer Course, or the ability to quickly attain; and
• A minimum Negative Vetting Level 1 (NV1) Australian Government Security Clearance with the ability to obtain NV2.
