The opportunity - Te tūranga
As Senior Commercial Producer reporting to GM Commercial & Government Relations, you will be responsible for providing commercial expertise, discipline and support to strategic projects, partnerships and high value content deals across TVNZ.
Your focus will be:
- Lead the preparation of business cases to support key high-value content acquisitions, commissions, sport and in-house productions, and partnerships, working with GM Commercial & Government Relations.
- Collaborate with internal Revenue, News & Content, Digital, Finance and Legal teams to provide clear and accurate briefings to inform the business casing of identified acquisition targets.
- Lead/support TVNZ negotiations for commercial agreements as instructed by GM Commercial & Government Affairs.
- Provide commercial subject matter expertise on cross-business projects and workstreams and contribute strategic thinking.
This is a 12-month fixed-term contract.
What we're looking for - Tā mātou e kimi nei
To be successful in this role, we are looking for the following
- Excellent writing, presentation and communication skills, with experience in the end-end-end briefing and devising of business cases and information papers to Executive and Board level.
- Demonstrated negotiation skills and/or ability to negotiate a range of content agreements, including large sports and local content deals.
- Proven track record of engaging with and driving team collaboration to support and deliver business strategies.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and operating pragmatically and commercially in a fast-paced transformative environment under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Demonstrated commercial acumen and exceptional relationship management ability both externally and internally.
- Strong methodical, organised and planned approach to work, coupled with the ability to be across and manage multiple moving parts.
- Ability to manage time and resources effectively, to be able to deliver to deadlines and on budget.
- Good communication skills, both written and spoken, coupled with the ability to listen effectively to understand other viewpoints.
- 4-6 years+ PQE legal experience advising on, drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts and intellectual property arrangements is an advantage, but not essential.
