Due to continued expansion across the Nordic region, we are seeking an experienced Senior Commissioning Manager to lead commissioning delivery on large-scale hyperscale data centre projects.
Role Overview
This is a full-time, on-site role based in the Nordics. The successful candidate will be embedded on project site, leading commissioning activities directly with contractors, client representatives and delivery teams.
A rotation schedule is available depending on employment type and project requirements.
The Senior Commissioning Manager will hold full ownership of the commissioning programme across all systems and workstreams. You will lead commissioning from early planning stages through integrated systems testing and client handover, ensuring technical excellence, safety compliance and programme alignment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the overall commissioning execution plan aligned with project milestones
- Lead commissioning strategy across Level 1–5 activities
- Manage system boundaries, tagging strategy, turnover sequencing and systemisation
- Oversee pre-commissioning activities including inspections, flushing, cleaning, pressure testing and verification
- Lead functional performance testing, integrated systems testing and failover validation
- Coordinate energisation sequences and critical path commissioning activities
- Manage black building tests, load bank testing and resilience testing
- Oversee electrical systems including MV/LV switchgear, transformers, UPS systems, generators, ATS, PDUs and busway systems
- Oversee mechanical systems including chillers, CRAH/CRAC units, cooling towers, pumps, pressurisation systems and BMS integration
- Ensure commissioning documentation including test scripts, ITPs, method statements and reports meet client and regulatory standards
- Chair commissioning coordination meetings and provide structured reporting to senior stakeholders
- Interface closely with QA/QC, construction and project controls teams
- Identify commissioning risks and implement mitigation strategies
- Ensure safe execution of energised and high-risk testing activities
Technical Experience Required
- 10+ years commissioning experience within mission critical or hyperscale data centre environments
- Strong understanding of redundancy topologies including N, N+1, 2N and 2N+1
- Proven delivery of integrated systems testing and client witnessing
- Deep understanding of electrical distribution systems from utility interface through to rack level
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary commissioning teams across electrical, mechanical and controls
- Familiarity with digital commissioning and turnover platforms
- Strong working knowledge of health and safety standards within high-risk environments
Leadership Profile
- Proven experience leading commissioning teams on live data centre projects
- Strong commercial awareness and programme ownership
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders across client, consultant and contractor organisations
- Structured and calm approach under programme pressure
- Excellent communication and reporting capability

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: €90.00-€115.00 per hour
