The Opportunity

Due to recent internal restructuring, we are currently seeking a Service Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our service and maintenance division. This is a key leadership role, responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and uptime of our equipment, directly impacting the quality of service we deliver to clients. The role will involve liaison with all internal departments, external contractors and our clients base. While primarily based at our depot, occasional site visits may be required.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee maintenance schedules to ensure minimal equipment downtime
• Manage and lead the Service Team (both field and yard-based)
• Provide first-line technical support (mechanical/electrical) to clients and internal teams
• Manage departmental budgets and control costs
• Uphold health and safety standards, including compliance and reporting
• Liaise with internal departments, external contractors, and clients

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience in people and team management
• Recognised qualification or background in engineering
• Strong mechanical and electrical technical skills
• Project management experience
• Previous experience with construction plant or similar equipment (advantageous)
• Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills
• Proficient in computer use and reporting tools
• A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset
• Full, clean driving licence
