Role Overview
BKM is seeking a dynamic Social Media Manager & Events Support professional to elevate digital presence and help execute events that connect audiences to brand stories for our Asheville hotel clients. You’ll blend strategy, creative content, and logistical coordination to spark impact—from content calendars to on-site brand activations.
Key Responsibilities
Social Media & Content Strategy
- Craft and manage monthly content calendars across platforms (Instagram & Facebook)
- Develop visual-forward assets—reels, photography, Stories—to reflect client/event narratives
- Attend quarterly photoshoots for clients, assisting with creative direction and content capture
- Engage communities: respond to audience interactions, monitor trends, and optimize posts
- Report on social media KPIs, analyze performance, and adjust strategies for growth
Digital Campaigns & Influencer Coordination
- Support influencer partnership outreach and co‑create content briefs
- Track campaign metrics and coordinate deliverables with influencers and clients
Event Support
- Co-manage event logistics: vendor coordination, run-of-show planning and community partnerships
- Serve as the point of contact during events—on-site liaison, overseeing setup, troubleshooting, and brand delivery (photo ops, non-profit sponsorships, digital coverage)
- Ensure digital storytelling on event day: coordinate with photographers, vendors, and attendees to capture and distribute digital content
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Contribute to pre‑event brainstorming, creative planning, and post‑event assessments
- Attend pitch meetings and assist with proposal creation and presentation materials
Qualifications
- 2–4 years in social media management, preferably within event-driven environments
- Proven experience in social media management with a strong portfolio showcasing previous work.
- Day-of-event flexibility—early mornings, nights, and weekends
- Excellent project management: calendars, timelines, budgets
- Proficiency in graphic design tools such as Canva and other Adobe Suite products
- Solid understanding of digital marketing principles and best practices.
- Experience with content creation that resonates with target audiences across various platforms.
- Strong research skills to identify trends and opportunities within the social media landscape.
- Excellent proofreading skills with attention to detail.
- Self-starter who thrives in fast-paced, collaborative settings
- PR background is a strong plus!!!
