Spray Painter

We are looking for two spray painters to join our company.

Responsibilities:

• Removing rough spots on vehicle panels.
• Sanding surfaces by hand and with power sanders.
• Masking areas not to be painted with tape and paper.
• Colour matching and mixing paints to match paint shades and selecting pre-mixed paint.
• Applying primer and finishing coats using spray-guns, and sanding surfaces between coats.
• Touching up paintwork and applying polish to vehicles.
• Inspect painted panels for defects and ensure smooth, even coatings.
• Removing masking papers and waxing and polishing finished paintwork.
• Painting signs and artwork on vehicles.
• Treating vehicles with rust-proofing chemicals.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including spray booths and equipment.
• Maintain inventory of painting supplies and report shortages.
• Keep records of paint jobs and materials used for each project.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and waste disposal procedures.

Requirements:

• NZQF Level 4 qualification OR

At least three years of relevant experience

• Skilled in mixing and applying paint using spray guns, including base coat, clear coat, and topcoat techniques.
• Ability to identify surface defects and apply appropriate repair techniques.
• Strong attention to detail and high-quality workmanship.
• Good time management skills and ability to work to deadlines.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $29.66 – $32.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 60 per week

Schedule:

• Rotating roster
• Shift work
• Weekend availability

Work Location: In person
