We are currently looking for a Store Manager to be part of the ongoing success of our liquor store in Christchurch, Canterbury. As a Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of their stores. They ensure that everything is running smoothly and that customers are happy with their experience.

Your Key Job Responsibilities will include-

  • Oversee and manage all aspects of daily store operations to ensure efficiency and productivity.
  • Perform regular stock audits to maintain accurate inventory records and ensure proper scheduling and handling.
  • Manage stock procurement by placing orders with current suppliers and sourcing new ones when necessary.
  • Negotiate promotions, pricing, and supply agreements to secure favorable terms from suppliers.
  • Introduce new product lines to boost sales and enhance business growth.
  • Set competitive pricing through detailed market research and implement periodic promotional offers to maintain target profit margins.
  • Delegate responsibilities to staff and monitor task execution for quality and timeliness.
  • Lead recruitment efforts, including interviewing and hiring suitable candidates as needed.
  • Facilitate the smooth onboarding and integration of new employees into the team.
  • Ensure store presentation and cleanliness standards are consistently upheld, including staff appearance and customer service quality.
  • Plan and execute in-store merchandising and promotional activities effectively.
  • Oversee all stock deliveries, ensuring check-in/check-out processes are accurately completed.
  • Manage store and business budgeting, including sales targets, stock levels, and wage control.
  • Uphold high standards of quality across all areas of the store operation.
  • Apply commercial acumen to achieve sales targets and maintain budget compliance.
  • Address and resolve customer complaints in a professional and timely manner.
  • Organize staff training and ongoing development to improve performance and service delivery.
  • Motivate the team by recognizing achievements and offering incentives when appropriate.
  • Foster a collaborative work environment by supporting team objectives and shared goals.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the store at all times.

Required to work for a minimum of 30 hours per week, and you will be paid between $28 - $32 per hour.

Requirements for the role:

  • 2 years of relevant Work Experience or a Level 6 relevant qualification
  • Have good communication and people skills
  • Be available to work on weekends and evening shifts.
  • Strong leadership qualities
  • Manager's certificate is preferred

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $28.00 – $32.00 per hour

Schedule:

  • 10 hour shift
  • 8 hour shift
  • Evening shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekend availability

Work Location: In person
