Position Overview

As a Construction Labourer, you will assist the maintenance team in a variety of tasks including site preparation, cleanup, equipment handling, minor repairs, and seasonal property maintenance. This is a flexible position that may involve shifting between different sites, departments, or work types depending on operational needs. This hands-on role is ideal for someone with a strong work ethic, and the ability to handle multiple responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with transporting materials, tools, and equipment to and from job sites.
  • Support carpenters, glaziers, and other skilled tradespeople during installations and repairs.
  • Perform general maintenance duties such as painting, patching, cleaning, or basic landscaping.
  • Help with demolition, site cleanup, and preparing areas for renovation or construction work.
  • Operate basic hand and power tools safely under supervision.
  • Perform snow removal, salting, and other seasonal upkeep tasks as required.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and ensure job sites remain clean and hazard-free.
  • Assist with loading and unloading supplies and maintaining storage areas.
  • Flexibly support various teams and departments across multiple properties as operational needs require.
  • Work safely at all times by using proper techniques, wearing required PPE, and being aware of your surroundings. Report any unsafe conditions or incidents immediately to your manager.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Willingness to learn and take direction from senior staff and tradespeople.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Dependable, punctual, with a strong work ethic.
  • Attention to detail and safety, with the capability of working in outdoor and indoor environments.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in general labour, maintenance, or construction is an asset but not required.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean Drivers Abstract.
  • Certificate of Conduct (required).
  • Safety certifications (Fall Protection, First Aid, WHMIS, Aerial Work Platform, etc.) considered an asset.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM (Full time, daytime hours)

Pay: $21.00-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
