The Role
Strategic Partnerships Manager – Acquisitions Team (Victoria & Tasmania)
NGS Super is seeking an experienced business development and relationships professional to join our Acquisitions Team based in Melbourne, with responsibility for the Victoria and Tasmania regions. In this key role, you will lead the development of strategic partnerships, fostering meaningful connections with employers and members to drive growth and amplify NGS Super’s impact.
Your primary focus will be championing our customer value proposition to enhance engagement, broaden membership, and increase funds under management. You will play a crucial part in supporting the Fund’s strategic objectives, including improving member retention, consolidation and driving overall business growth
What you’ll do
- Proactively reinforce and nurture relationships with employers across Victoria and Tasmania to elevate NGS Super’s visibility and reputation.
- The aim is to position the fund as the preferred superannuation choice within the non-government education sector, as well as in other targeted markets.
- Leverage data insights to shape and guide the overall business development strategy. This involves identifying and pursuing promising business leads and fostering relationships that underpin strategic growth objectives. Regular use of data analytics will ensure that efforts remain focused and effective.
- Work closely with Customer Relationship Managers (CRMs) and other business units to develop strategies aimed at deepening market presence.
- This includes increasing engagement with both existing default schools, non-default schools, and additional sectors as outlined in the strategic growth plan.
- Present NGS Super’s range of products and services to each client segment in a manner that is tailored and impactful. This will be achieved through a mix of personalised consultations, onsite workplace visits, and group presentations, ensuring each interaction is relevant and meaningful for the audience.
- A core responsibility of this role is to effectively communicate the Fund’s Customer Value Proposition (CVP) to both employers and members. This involves articulating the unique benefits and value that NGS Super delivers, ensuring all stakeholders are informed and engaged.
- The Strategic Partnerships Manager will provide general financial advice to members as needed. Where appropriate, members will be referred for intra-fund advice, limited personal advice, or comprehensive advice through our full advice service model, ensuring members receive the level of support best suited to their circumstances.
- This position is responsible for identifying valuable business development opportunities within the Victoria and Tasmania regions. The Manager will proactively build and maintain a robust pipeline of prospective employers, supporting the ongoing growth and impact of NGS Super.
A commercially aware sales professional with a background in Superannuation, you will bring the following key skills:

- Ability to work autonomously, develop and manage your own work plan and deadlines.
- Strong computer literacy with Salesforce (or other CRM) Wod, Excel, and PowerPoint skills.
- RG146 qualification (min)
- Current driver’s licence and willing to travel to meet the requirements of the role in VIC and TAS.
- Undergraduate or postgraduate qualifications in business or financial discipline
- Certified financial planner
