Essential Duties/Principal Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning and Project Management:
  • Alines projects with strategic goals: Defining project scope, setting clear objectives, and ensuring projects contribute to the company's long-term vision.
  • Developing and implementing inventory strategy around implementation of a formal cycle count program, PFEP, optimizing stock levels, minimizing holding costs, and ensuring product availability to meet customer demand.
  • Formal Management of inventory control systems: Overseeing the implementation and utilization of software for real-time tracking, stock reconciliation, and reporting.
  • Develop and provide key performance indicators (KPIs) to benchmark operations, identify risks, and highlight opportunities for improvement.
  • Prepare and analyze data for reviews, identify gaps, guide decision-making, and escalate issues for executive attention when necessary.
  • Team leadership and development: Leading and supporting production planning teams, setting goals, coaching, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Production Planning Management:
  • Own the Master Production Schedule that ensures effective utilization of resources and on-time delivery.
  • Create, manage and maintain an integrated schedule that satisfies customer demand while leveling work to manufacturing, optimizing inventory levels and resource utilization.
  • Lead Daily Production Meetings as a resource for viewing and properly reflecting updates to both the Production Schedule and open P.O. Report.
  • Manages the timeliness of MRP transactions (work orders) that allow for timely execution of manufacturing schedules throughout all manufacturing lines.
  • Interface with Customer Service, Planning & Purchasing to assure that products are being manufactured and shipped in support of customer requirements.
  • Work with Project Managers, Facilities, Engineering, and Operations to identify non-production-related Line requirements and schedules as appropriate.
  • Proactively communicate to management any changes to the schedule that will have a large impact on customer service levels.
  • Identify schedule risks, then develop and implement risk mitigation plans to provide assured supply confidence
  • Responsible for managing the production planners who:
    • Plan, schedule and coordinate production of the company’s products.
    • Evaluate raw materials and equipment to ensure everything is in place for production
    • Schedule shifts and workers to provide proper coverage
    • Watch costs to ensure the production process stays within budget
    • Report on the production status and any production issues to upper management
    • Handle production disruptions and productivity problems
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Ensures monthly metrics are calculated and reported accordingly.
  • Develop Ad hoc reporting as necessary
  • Participate in Xylem Watermark volunteer activities to contribute to community and environmental sustainability initiatives.
Key Skills and Competencies:
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills to manage complex data and translate insights into actions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to align cross-functional teams.
  • Expertise in ERP/MRP systems, demand and supply planning, and inventory management.
  • Proven ability to lead continuous improvement initiatives and manage competing priorities effectively.
  • Technical proficiency in IT systems and tools to support distribution operations.
Minimum Qualifications: Education, Experience, Skills, Abilities, License/Certification:
  • Minimum 8 to 10 years’ experience in operations management, supply chain management planning, scheduling and/or forecasting
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Engineering, Business, or a related field
  • Advanced analytical skills and expert knowledge utilizing MS Excel, MS Access and BI tools
  • In-depth experience utilizing ERP, MRP / Kanban execution systems
  • Demonstrated leadership and management skills, including the ability to effectively coach, motivate, empower, develop and evaluate employees.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience utilizing Lean Manufacturing and Continuous improvement (CI) tools.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively interact with all levels of external and internal customers.
  • Effective verbal/written communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong bias for action, and effective change agent.
  • Proficiency in managing and facilitating teams through problem solving and conflict resolutions.
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple priorities.
  • Experience in developing and deploying cross-functional processes
  • Ability to influence and manage in a matrix environment
  • Broad end-to-end supply chain and operations process knowledge
  • Persistence and focus to drive results and continuous improvement
  • Strong analytical, project management and leadership skills
  • Strong listening, communication (verbal and written) including with senior management
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working with SAP
  • Prior exposure to implementing ERP
  • Six Sigma Green Belt / Black Belt / Lead Master certifications
  • Operations certifications (APICS or ISM)
  • Project Management certifications (PMI)
  • S&OP/Forecasting/Demand Management certifications (IBF, S&OP Institute or Oliver Wight)
The estimated salary range for this position is $115,000 to $125,000 plus bonus. Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range. At Xylem we offer a competitive compensation package with a generous benefit package, including Medical, Dental, Vision plans, 401(k) with company contribution, paid time off, paid parental leave and tuition reimbursement.
