About the Role

We’ve got an exciting Substations Coordinator full-time permanent role just for you! In this position, you’ll support the Substation team by undertaking work planning and project and resource coordination to ensure the completion of Substation field activities to meet Omexom and Vector standards and KPIs.

  • Co-ordinating special projects, major maintenance, and fault jobs, as assigned by the Senior Contract Manager.
  • Assisting and supporting planners and other coordinators in the execution of day to day maintenance tasks from planning through to completion, including the scheduling of resources.
  • Working closely with the PM team to understand the planned maintenance overall strategy and support substations requirements.
  • Sourcing and supplying data on time and updating financial reports and related systems, to assist with EV completion for all substation projects.
  • Overseeing the monthly billing claim process by carrying out quality checks, invoicing and reviewing job costs and quotations.
  • Monitoring work in progress financial balances and performance indicators.
  • Coordinating customer escalations and maintaining customer contact by planning regular customer visits or meetings.
  • Reviewing customer and industry standards and ensuring the company complies with best practice and making recommendations for improvement.
  • Assisting with scheduling to carry out work in conjunction with the technical services coordinators.
  • Engaging with subcontractors to price, plan and safely execute maintenance or special projects.
  • Coordinating sub-contractors and monitoring performance, quality, risk and commercials; ensuring work is completed to Omexom and customer standards.
  • Reviewing technical maintenance strategies and making recommendations for improvement.
  • Reviewing and responding to technical standards in change control in conjunction with standards champions.
  • Performing technical risk assessment of projects and maintenance work to prevent inadvertent power outages and equipment damage to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Assisting the team with emergency fault breakdown work and field maintenance activities.
  • Ensuring that both Omexom and the customer comply with the contract agreements.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Trade Qualification as a technician, electrician or line mechanic is essential.
  • Hands-on experience in substations and other high voltage electrical work to industry standards
  • Advanced computer skills.
  • A thorough knowledge of current regulatory and industry requirements.
  • Ability to write technical reports.
  • Excellent planning and organisation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with customers and staff at all levels.
  • The ability to solve problems without impacting on workflow.
