Key Responsibilities

• Apply coatings such as paints, varnish, stains, stipple, wallpaper, surface preparatory materials, and undercoating materials to a variety of surfaces, interiors, and exteriors alike, all in a professional manner
• Prepare surfaces for coatings by cleaning, scraping, stripping, filling, patching, and sanding
• Maintain existing paint surfaces by matching and tinting paint products
• Determine appropriate colors for new or replacement applications through consultation with the Maintenance Supervisor
• Always remove all door handles, switch plates, thermostat covers, etc. prior to painting, and replace when the paint has dried
• Operate compressors, spray equipment, and other small power equipment
• Install, repair, and maintain drywall, wallpaper, wall texturing, and ceiling acoustic texturing
• Clean equipment, paint mixing area, and work area
• Mark and store different types of coatings in compliance with related fire and health and safety regulations, policies, and procedures
• Assemble and disassemble scaffold and climb ladders, using approved safety methods
• Dispose of paints, stains, preparatory and undercoating materials, and other hazardous materials, safely and appropriately
• Reporting and tracking all work in Yardi
• The foregoing responsibilities must be consistent with CaraCo’s Standard Operating Policies and Procedures

Education and Experience

• Minimum high school diploma or equivalent education
• College diploma or vocational training preferred but not essential
• Minimum two years related experience in a similar building maintenance technician role

Other Requirements

• Employment is conditional on a clean criminal records check
• Valid driver’s license

Job Type: Seasonal
