We are looking for
Summer Trainee, Design Engineer, Mechanics
to join Normet R&D Platform team in Iisalmi, between 4th of May – 28th of August 2026.
The team is responsible for Normet equipment platform development e.g., frame structures, cabins, powertrain, battery electric power modules and engine modules. Our mission is to lead the transformation into a more digital and sustainable tomorrow.
Main responsibilities and tasks:
- Engineering feedback handling including manufacturing and assembly drawing updates.
- Small to medium-scale mechanical design work.
- Production technical support.
- The final job content will be adjusted according to your skills and interests.
To shine in this position, we hope you have:
- Minimum 3rd year Mechanical Engineering student, Bachelor or Master´s degree.
- Knowledge of typical steel structure manufacturing methods.
- Basic understanding of 3D design and technical drawings are a must
- Practical experience from steel structure manufacturing or assembly is an advantage.
- Experience with Autodesk Inventor is considered an advantage.
- Good communication skills in Finnish and English.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Proactive mindset and eagerness to learn.
- Results-driven attitude
