Supervisor - Prepared Produce

At Service Foods Auckland, we're seeking a Prep Produce Supervisor to spearhead the operational excellence of our Prep Produce Department.

In this pivotal role, you'll lead a dedicated team, ensuring seamless operations across all facets of the department, from preparation to packing, order management, food safety and quality control.

Position Details:

  • Location: Ihumatao road, Mangere
  • Hourly pay rate: $30 - $32
  • Permanent full time role (40-45 hours/week)
  • Shift times: Monday to Sunday, 06:30 am to 03:00 pm (Saturday off)

Job Responsibilities:

As the Supervisor of our Prepared Produce team, you will:

  • Lead, oversee, and manage all operational aspects of the Prep Produce Department.
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation and packing of produce orders.
  • Manage daily activities, including quality assurance, inventory control, space management, and floor productivity.
  • Ensure all produce is prepared, packed, and stored according to company and regulatory standards.
  • Monitor and enforce food safety protocols, including proper handling, sanitation, and storage practices.
  • Address and resolve any customer complaints or issues related to prepared produce.
  • Ensure FIFO stock rotation is implemented with the team.
  • Ensure stock locations are accurate – including assistance with revolving stock takes
  • Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and functioning.
  • Conduct regular quality checks to maintain high standards of produce quality and freshness.
  • Implement corrective actions promptly when quality or safety issues are identified.
  • Set performance objectives/KPIs and review and assess ongoing performance of direct reports
  • Ensure staff attendance is maintained at an efficient level
  • Maintain a neat and tidy workplace environment and implement mechanisms for food safety.
  • Assist the Produce Operations Manager in staff recruitment, training and performance management.
  • Lead, coach, and mentor the Prep Produce team to enhance capability in the produce business.

Desired Candidate Profile:

Our ideal candidate will possess:

  • Tertiary qualification or equivalent in Warehouse, Logistics, Supply chain or in a related field
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience in a Team Leader or Supervisor role (preferably in Produce)
  • Hands on experience in Fresh Produce or Prepared produce warehouse required
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Experience in people management
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • High level of dependability and reliability.
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and extra hours as required.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with all levels of employees.
  • Strong computer skills and technical proficiency.
  • Relationship-focused (internal & external) and action-oriented.
