The National Organised Crime Group (NOCG) has a permanent position available for a Support Officer based at Ellerslie. The role is predominantly transcription work.
NOCG is a national workgroup who run investigations at the higher end of criminal offending. The Support Team is part of an expanding work group with teams in Auckland, Tauranga, Waikato, Wellington and Christchurch. We are a tight knit team who work closely with the investigations teams transcribing audio files, DVDs and dictation necessary to prepare files for Court or related enforcement action.
You will have excellent knowledge and use of Microsoft Office software including Word and also need to be able to accurately copy, type, transcribe audio and DVD recordings to a high level of words per minute and possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
We are looking for someone who is engaged, motivated and displays sound judgement to be part of a dynamic, small team. You will need to be able to focus for long periods of time, work well under pressure on occasion and be able to complete work with accuracy.
The environment is fast-paced and conscientious with each member ensuring quality of work is kept to a high standard.
Key Accountabilities:
- Ability to transcribe accurately from DVD and audio recordings is essential.
- Exceptional typing skills - must be at 80 to 95 words per minute
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Work under pressure whilst managing conflicting demands
- Excellent grammar and spelling
- Being able to plan and prioritise workloads

What you'll need for the role:
- Audio transcription experience is preferred but not essential
- The nature of the role will see you need to have a confidential approach to the sensitive material you are dealing with
- Strong Microsoft Word skills are important, a working knowledge of Winscribe would be advantageous
- Accuracy in the role is essential, along with being able to have honest and open communication with your team and manager to ensure timeframes are met
- Being able to focus for extended periods of time
- You will need to be able to type 80 - 95 wpm with a high level of accuracy
This role is set at Individual Contributor level, this means your key purpose is "to deliver or enable others to deliver Our Business".

The minimum criteria for this level of national security clearance is:
NZ Citizen who has resided continuously in NZ for the last 10 years, or:
- A Permanent Resident who has resided continuously in NZ for the last 10 years, or
- A citizen of or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last 10 years: Australia, Canada, United Kingdom, or United States of America, and has a background that can be verified by the NZSIS

Utu a-tau | Salary
This position is covered by a collective agreement and salary will commence between $63,526 and $66,312 dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
