Help shape the future of Education
We work to shape an education system that delivers equitable and excellent outcomes
Our organisation is made up of talented and committed people around Aotearoa, from a wide range of backgrounds and cultures. While we work in different groups and on different things, we all strive every day to make the biggest difference we can for our students in our education system.
About this role | Mo tenei turanga
As an Education Support Worker (ESW), you will play a critical role in our region's Learning Support team by providing effective, efficient and equitable support for the benefit of children and young people to achieve specific educational goals in conjunction with early learning centres and lead workers.
ESWs form an important part of the Early lntervention Team, supporting the education of young children with diverse educational needs, working across a range of early childhood learning centres and settings. Under the supervision and guidance of Te Mahau specialist staff, the ESW's role is to support the teachers at the centre to implement an individual plan for a specific child(ren) and include the child(ren) in the full early childhood programme of the centre.
The ESW's role may not always involve working directly with children. They may for example, be asked to attend planning meetings, training courses, or to compete observations of the child at play in the centre.
Te Mahau has great part-time opportunities for you if you want to make a difference for young learners with additional needs in early childhood settings.
The role will also suit you if you have, or are working towards, an Early Childhood qualification.
This permanent, part-time role with variable hours falls under our Taupo Hub and will support service delivery mainly in the Taupo area, offering a fantastic lifestyle and work-life balance opportunity working in one of New Zealand's great outdoor adventure locations. (See the following link for more information on Taupo as a destination: https://www.lovetaupo.com/en/.) Please note, the hours we can offer for this role will vary from term to term and could range between 8-20 hours per week. There may be times where service delivery support in other areas of the Taupo district is required.
Salary range: $28.03 - $31.03 per hour + 3% kiwi saver. The successful candidate will be appointed at a salary which reflects individual skills and experience.
