We have an immediate requirement to provide our federal government client with a Systems Administrator with strong z/LINUX experience.

Security: Secret clearance already in place (Mandatory)
Language: English essential
Location: Ottawa (onsite in the NCR)

Description:

Deploying a UNIX/Linux server on a mainframe typically means running Linux or UNIX-like workloads on IBM Z (mainframe) hardware, not installing a traditional standalone server. The mainframe acts as the physical platform, and logical servers run on top of it.

Ansible is an open-source automation tool used to configure systems, deploy applications, and manage infrastructure—all in a simple, human-readable way.

At a high level, Ansible lets you define how systems should look and behave, and then it automatically makes them match that definition.

Experience

-Experience with Ansible:

• Configuration management

Ensure servers have the right software, settings, users, and permissions

• Application deployment

Deploy and update apps consistently across environments (dev, test, prod)

• Infrastructure automation

Provision cloud resources (AWS, Azure, GCP), VMs, containers, networks

• Orchestration

Coordinate multi-step workflows across many systems

-Experience with Kubernetes

-Developing Dockers and Containers
