Duties

  • Design and deliver age-appropriate lessons that align with curriculum standards, fostering a love for learning across subjects such as literacy, numeracy, arts, and physical activity.
  • Manage classroom behavior effectively through positive reinforcement and behavior management techniques to create a safe and respectful environment.
  • Implement classroom management strategies to ensure smooth daily operations and maximize student engagement.
  • Support children’s emotional and social development through Christian counseling principles, encouraging kindness, empathy, and cooperation.
  • Provide first aid when necessary, ensuring the safety and well-being of all students at all times.
  • Adapt teaching methods to accommodate students with special education needs or those requiring additional support in early childhood education settings.
  • Organize and supervise activities such as sports coaching, theater productions, arts projects, or camp-related activities to enrich the learning experience.
  • Maintain detailed records of student progress, behavior reports, and lesson plans to monitor development and communicate effectively with parents or guardians.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop inclusive curricula that promote childhood development and cater to diverse learning styles.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development related to childcare, tutoring techniques, behavior management, and educational best practices.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience working with children in educational or childcare settings such as daycare, preschool, camp counseling, tutoring, or babysitting roles.
  • Strong classroom management skills combined with the ability to foster a nurturing environment conducive to learning.
  • Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childhood development stages.
  • Certification or training in first aid is highly desirable to ensure safety standards are met.
  • Experience working with students with special needs or in inclusive education environments is preferred.
  • Ability to implement behavior management strategies effectively while maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills for engaging with children, parents, colleagues, and community members.
  • Background in sports coaching, theater arts, or other extracurricular activities is a plus for enriching the curriculum.
  • Demonstrated understanding of Christian counseling approaches can enhance the supportive environment for students’ emotional growth. Job Type: Contract
