About the Role:
Teacher Practice Mentor – Early Education and Care will play a pivotal role in mentoring teachers to deepen professional knowledge, strengthen pedagogy, and enhance educational outcomes across Gowrie NSW Early Education Centres. You will lead initiatives that grow teacher capability in line with the Australian Professional Teaching Standards, support educational leaders, and foster strong partnerships with tertiary institutions. This role is key to embedding a culture of reflective practice, inquiry, and professional growth across the organisation.
Please note this role can be Full time or Part time - Monday to Wednesday.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide mentorship to teachers, supporting their professional development, teacher accreditation, and progression toward proficient teaching standards.
- Build leadership capacity among teachers and educational leaders through coaching, supervision, and professional guidance.
- Develop and implement frameworks and programs that enhance teacher practice and professional identity.
- Facilitate communities of practice, networking groups, and partnerships with universities and tertiary institutions.
- Support induction, supervision, and ongoing engagement of teachers to ensure alignment with Gowrie NSW Program Foundations.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance pedagogy, curriculum, and child outcomes.
- Contribute to organisational projects, professional writing, and sector-wide knowledge sharing.
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and professional environment aligned with Gowrie NSW values, WHS policies, and child safety standards.
- Tertiary qualification in Early Childhood Education (minimum Degree qualified, accredited at proficient level or higher).
- NESA Accreditation Supervisor Training completed or willingness to complete immediately.
- Demonstrated experience in professional mentoring, leadership, or teacher development roles.
- Strong knowledge of the National Law, Regulations, National Quality Standards, and teacher accreditation requirements.
- Excellent interpersonal, coaching, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Experience leading quality improvement initiatives and developing responsive workplans.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce professional documentation.
- Current Driver’s License and Working with Children Check.
