We have a vacant role of Full-time Telecommunication Technicians to work in Waikato and surroundings. You will be required to work between 30 to 40 hours from 7AM to 7PM (Monday - Friday) depending on wether conditions. however we also work sometime on Saturday (if required); Company required the technician who is willing to take responsibility to work in team with friendly ambience or can work aline if required as per work location

Job Duties:

• Installs, maintains and repairs telecommunications and electronics equipment and appliances, such as telephones, mobile telephones, switchboards and data transmission equipment.
• Fibre installations including cabling and fusion splicing in residential as well as commercial properties.
• Scoping and determined the most cost-effective route to connect a custom.
• Knowledge of structured cabling will be an added advantage.
• Ability to communicate effectively to different sections of the installation process that includes service providers and dispatch centre is a key requirement.
• Take responsibilities for tools and plants and test equipment’s.
• Tests and certifies fibre optic cables using specialized equipment (Splicer, OTDR Testers and Fibre Tracers)
• Implementing networks and ensuring efficient use of application and equipment.
• Installing cabling for telephone, radio, pay TV and computer transmission.
• Joining cables and sealing sheaths with lead and thermoplastic.
• Terminates fibre optic cables including patch, indoor and outdoor cables
• Connects fibre optic cables to networking outlets and between network outlets
• Run fibre optic cables underground and perform premises internal cabling
• Install, troubleshoot and maintain fibre optic systems.
• You will be looking after our customer's installations and services.
• Fibre cabling and Fusion splicing in commercial and domestic properties
• Plan, design, and troubleshoot local and wide area network infrastructure, including Wireless Routers, Switches, and Landline telephones.
• Integrating and Configuring Telecommunication Devices and tools.
• Providing ongoing operational supports for designing, troubleshooting, optimizing telecommunication network performance at all terminals including FAT, Network Cabinet, and Customers’ end.
• Coordinate with customers and arrange for the installation of the services.
• Managing resources and completing tasks in the allocated time frames
• Programming optical network terminal (ONT)
• Implement health and safety requirements by using appropriate gear and personal protective equipment Core Requirements

Job Requirements:

• 1 years of relevant industry work experience required, or you may have level 3 Diploma or higher qualification.
• Good at identifying problems and troubleshooting hardware issues.
• Able to work independently and compatibility to work on weekends.
• Clean Character background
• Zero tolerance of alcohol and drugs in the workplace

For this role, you will earn a good income package which starts from $25to $32.
