Test Analyst

A market leader in the development and provision of Retail software environments, addressing single or multi-Retail operations, for specialist Distribution, Wholesale, Merchant, and Retail industry sectors, addressing single or multi-branch operations, as well as catering for organisations with 'point-of-sale' showrooms and warehouses, currently has a position available for a Software Engineer in Test in the newly formed Payments Shared Services team. This role will involve starting on a greenfield project with a team that has just launched an MVP. The candidate will need to own the test strategy, decide on tools, testing frameworks, and ensure the quality of the product.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and own the test strategy for the Payments Shared Services team.
• Select and implement appropriate testing tools and frameworks such as TestRail, Selinium or Playwright
• Design, develop, and execute automated tests to ensure the quality of the product.
• Work towards 80%+ test automation
• Work closely with developers to understand the architecture and design of the product.
• Identify, record, document, and track bugs.
• Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved.
• Develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet client needs.
• Liaise with internal teams (e.g., developers and product managers) to identify system requirements.
• Monitor debugging process results.
• Investigate the causes of non-conforming software and train users to implement solutions.
• Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts.
• Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

• Proven experience as a Software Engineer in Test or similar role.
• Experience in C# .NET, Blazor
• Experience testing back end and front end products
• Experience in developing test strategies and selecting appropriate testing tools and frameworks.
• Strong knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
• Hands-on experience with automated testing tools.
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process.
• Experience with performance and/or security testing is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
