WORK SCHEDULE

This is a full-time position based out of Delisle, Saskatchewan. Due to the nature of railway operations, the successful candidate must be available to work extended hours, overtime, weekends, and emergency callouts as operationally required. Regular travel throughout Saskatchewan is required.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

This position is based in Delisle; however, travel throughout the Last Mountain Railway (LMR) and Big Sky Rail (BGS) territory is required, as operationally needed.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Track Supervisor is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising track inspection, maintenance, and rehabilitation activities across MobilGrain's rail network. This position provides day-to-day leadership to track crews, oversees the quality of work, and ensures railway infrastructure is maintained safely and in compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We're looking for an experienced leader who enjoys working in the field, leading crews, and taking ownership of railway infrastructure. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, organized, and confident making day-to-day operational decisions while supporting a positive, accountable team environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to:

• Review project documentation, work plans, specifications, and related information to ensure work is completed in accordance with current requirements.
• Assist the Track Manager in planning upcoming maintenance and construction activities, including identifying resource requirements, work methods, and safety considerations.
• Coordinate the day-to-day activities of assigned track maintenance projects, ensuring labour, equipment, materials, and tools are available to complete the work safely and efficiently.
• Supervise, direct, coach, and mentor track crews, contractors, and equipment operators, providing training, orientation, performance feedback, and corrective action, as required.
• Conduct daily job briefings and tailgate meetings to review work plans, production goals, safety topics, hazards, and work assignments.
• Take responsibility for crew performance by promoting safe work practices, monitoring the quality and efficiency of work, and ensuring compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure appropriate personal protective equipment, tools, and safety equipment are available and used correctly.
• Communicate and coordinate with the Track Manager, Operations, contractors, and other departments to ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and with minimal disruption to operations.
• Complete inspection reports, timesheets, equipment logs, maintenance records, and other required documentation.
• Conduct routine field inspections to verify work quality, compliance with company standards, and adherence to approved work plans.
• Monitor the condition of track, switches, crossings, and right-of-way by identifying and reporting defects, assisting with investigations into track defects, derailments, and other infrastructure-related incidents, and documenting findings and corrective actions, as directed.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

Education

• CROR qualification.
• TIGS certification.

Experience

• Minimum five years of railway track maintenance experience.
• Experience leading crews or providing day-to-day direction in a railway or construction environment.

Skills

• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and standard computer applications.
• Ability to travel throughout Saskatchewan as operationally required.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including extended hours, overtime, weekends, shift work, and emergency callouts.
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 50 lbs. and working on uneven terrain.

Employment Requirements

• Valid Class 5 driver’s license.
• Clean driving record and insurability under the Company's vehicle insurance policy.
• Successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol testing.
