OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The main purpose of the position is to be the first point of contact with both customers and company sales team for the despatch of orders & customer service questions. To deal with incoming calls from the sales office & external sales team in relation to customer sales orders & despatch sales orders for the collection & transport divisions. There will be a requirement to liaise with all departments such as warehouse, purchasing, sales & transport in relation to any issues that may arise from the despatch of dockets i.e. stock shortages, stock outs and delivery/collection queries.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The candidate must have a positive attitude to sales and customer service and the ability to work in a pressurised environment. The core focus of the role relates to customer service & administration.
The role will require the candidate to:
- Deal with trade counter & phone enquiries.
- Co-ordinate with the purchasing, warehouse and transport teams to ensure complete order processing.
- Maintain orderly records of all despatch, pod’s and picking dockets.
- Work closely with colleagues on the internal sales desks across all product portfolios
- Maintain orderly workspace.
- Resolving queries with customers directly or via the sales team and come to a successful conclusion.
- Completion of other sales and administrative tasks relating to the sale and distribution of products to the customer base.
- Handle returns or complaints.
- Listen to customer’s questions and concerns, and provide answers or responses.
- To ensure all areas of the trade counter has an adequate level of customer and employee Health and Safety.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
The role will require the candidate to have:
- Minimum 2 years’ sales, trade counter or warehouse experience.
- 2 years’ experience operating a forklift.
- Basic IT Skills including Word/Excel/PowerPoint & Outlook.
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, organisational and time management skills.
- The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and a strong team player.
- Full, clean driving licence.
