POSITION: Travel Consultant
LOCATION: Sudbury Travel Store - 100 Donna Dr, Sudbury, ON
Our Travel Consultants curate personalized travel experiences tailored to the unique preferences and requirements of every Member. Collaborating with the sales team, they work towards achieving individual and team sales targets, promoting North American and International travel packages, upgrades, and additional services that cater to the unique preferences of our Members.
Travel Consultants provide exceptional customer service. They are dedicated to actively listening to Members' concerns, providing swift responses to inquiries, and ensuring that every detail of the travel experience is executed with precision and enjoyment in mind.
Travel Consultants possess strong attention to detail and are adept multitasking abilities, essential for thriving in a fast-paced setting. They effectively manage numerous client requests, reservations, and administrative duties while ensuring precision and meeting deadlines. The Travel Consultant excels in teamwork, yet also displays self-motivation and the capability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities:
Travel Planning and Client Consultation
- Conduct thorough consultations with clients to understand their travel preferences, budget, and special requirements.
- Recommend suitable destinations, accommodations, transportation options, and activities based on client preferences and current travel trends.
- Create personalized travel itineraries that align with each client's unique needs and desires.
Travel Insurance Sales:
- Offer and sell travel insurance policies to clients, emphasizing the importance of coverage for unforeseen events during their travels.
- Provide guidance on selecting insurance options that align with their specific needs.
Booking and Reservation Management:
- Handle all aspects of travel bookings, including flights, hotels, car rentals, cruises, tours, and other travel-related services.
- Ensure the accuracy of reservations, promptly confirm bookings, and maintain clear communication with clients throughout the booking process.
- Manage changes to bookings, cancellations, and rebooking as needed.
Financial Management and Transparency:
- Present pricing options and financial breakdowns transparently to clients.
- Process payments, deposits, and refunds in accordance with company policies and industry standards.
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation.

Education and Experience
- Previous experience as a travel consultant or in a related customer service role is preferred:
- Completion of Travel Agency Certification from an established and recognized institution is preferred:
- Travel Industry Council of Ontario (TICO) certification is required.
- Valid Canadian Passport is required
- Certified Travel Counsellor (CTC) designation or active pursuit thereof is required.
- Demonstrated sales acumen with a proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Industry Knowledge:
- Demonstrated foundational understanding of Travel industry concepts, regulations, and best practices.
- Strong geographical knowledge and a passion for travel:
- An extensive understanding of global destinations, cultural nuances, and travel trends
- Ability to provide insightful recommendations and tailor travel plans to suit client preferences.
Personal Attributes:
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills
- Attention to detail and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment:
- Fluency in both Official Languages is desirable
Compensation:
- Base Salary: $19.43 - $22.36 per hour
