Travel Consultant

Location: Remote

Reports To: Team Leader, Reservations Manager, Operations Manager

About the Role

We are looking for a customer-focused Travel Consultant to help clients plan, book, and manage their travel arrangements. The right candidate will give expert travel advice, create personalized itineraries, process reservations, and provide outstanding customer service throughout the entire process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle inbound and outbound travel inquiries by phone, email, and online channels.
  • Advise customers on destinations, travel products, and available services.
  • Create and manage bookings for flights, hotels, cruises, rail, tours, and additional services.
  • Accurately process new reservations, changes, cancellations, and refunds.
  • Prepare travel documents and ensure all bookings are correct.
  • Build strong relationships with customers to encourage repeat business.
  • Look for ways to upsell and cross-sell travel products and services.
  • Resolve customer questions and issues quickly and professionally.
  • Keep accurate customer records and booking information in reservation systems.
  • Make sure to follow company policies, supplier requirements, and industry rules.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in travel sales, reservations, customer service, or a similar travel role.
  • Strong knowledge of travel products, destinations, and booking processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple bookings and tasks while paying attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with reservation systems, CRM platforms, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with GDS systems like Amadeus, Galileo, Sabre, or Worldspan.
  • Experience in leisure, corporate, luxury, cruise, or group travel.
  • Understanding of airline fares, ticketing, and travel documentation requirements.
