Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Veterinary Technician to join our animal care team. The ideal candidate will assist veterinarians in providing medical care to a variety of small animals, primarily dogs and cats. This position offers the opportunity to work in a privately owned, veterinary environment. If you have at least one year experience in animal care or are planning a degree in veterinary medicine we encourage you to apply for this position.

Duties:
- Assist veterinarians in medical procedures and surgeries
- Perform X-rays and laboratory tests
- Handle and restrain animals during examinations and treatments
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Maintain accurate records of patient care
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care and treatment and provide outstanding customer service

Experience Desired:
- Experience with X-ray procedures and dental terminology for animals
- Proficiency in handling dogs, cats and other animals
- Familiarity with pet medications, flea and tick control products, special foods
- Familiarity with veterinary vaccination protocols
- Understanding of animal anatomy and veterinary terminology
- Ability to perform laboratory procedures
- Ability to learn and utilize EzyVet software
- Strong animal handling skills

A minimum of 1 year of animal care experience is strongly desired.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
