Responsibilities
Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and diagnostic procedures, ensuring all protocols are followed with precision.
Perform animal restraint and handling with confidence, utilizing your knowledge of animal behavior and physiology to ensure safety for both animals and staff.
Conduct laboratory tests and analyze samples to aid in diagnosis, including blood work, urinalysis, and other diagnostic procedures.
Maintain accurate medical records, documenting treatments, observations, and patient progress meticulously.
Support pet care activities such as grooming, feeding, administering medications, and monitoring recovery post-surgery or treatment.
Prepare animals for procedures by performing animal catheterization, aseptic techniques, and applying veterinary terminology accurately.
Operate diagnostic equipment such as X-ray machines and assist with radiographic procedures to support diagnosis.
Skills
Proven kennel experience combined with animal husbandry skills to ensure optimal pet comfort and safety.
Strong understanding of dental terminology and procedures to assist with dental cleanings and treatments.
Experience in veterinary critical care settings, handling emergency situations efficiently and calmly.
Laboratory experience including sample collection, processing, and analysis to support diagnostic efforts.
Knowledge of equine care practices is a plus for clinics that handle large animals or horses.
Excellent dog handling skills along with animal restraint techniques to manage diverse species safely.
Familiarity with veterinary terminology, animal anatomy, and physiology to communicate effectively within the team.
Ability to perform animal catheterization accurately while maintaining aseptic technique standards.
Experience with pet grooming and pet care routines that enhance overall well-being of animals under our care.
Competence in taking X-rays and operating related equipment for diagnostic purposes.
