Waiter – Indian Vegetarian Restaurant

Key Responsibilities:

• Greet guests warmly, take drink and food orders, and ensure a positive dining experience.
• Set up and arrange tables before and after each service.
• Stay attentive to the needs of guests, ensuring they receive prompt service.
• Deliver food and beverages from the kitchen/bar to guests efficiently.
• Open bottles and pour beverages as required.
• Ensure food orders are correctly prepared and presented before serving to guests.
• Follow food handling and health code standards at all times.
• Clear tables and return used dishes and cutlery to the kitchen.
• Refill water glasses and replace empty bottles and glasses as needed.
• Collect payments, operate point-of-sale machines and cash registers, and handle transactions accurately.

What We’re Looking For:

• Previous experience in a waiter or front-of-house role is preferred but not required.
• Excellent customer service skills, with a friendly and professional attitude.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
• Strong communication skills and ability to engage with customers.
• Basic knowledge of Indian cuisine and dietary preferences is a plus.
• A team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Comfortable handling cash and card transactions accurately.

Requirements:

• Availability for rostered shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
• Ability to stand for long hours and carry trays with food and drinks.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain cleanliness in the dining area.
• Must have the legal right to work in New Zealand (NZ Residents/Citizens preferred).

The position is based in Auckland, New Zealand, offering a minimum of 30 hours per week, with a pay range starting at $24 per hour, based on experience and skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.50 – $24.00 per year
