Responsibilities: The successful candidate is part of a functional work group responsible for Receiving, Storing, Transferring and Shipping of factory raw materials and finished product. They are completely familiar with the operation of the factory operating system Aptean and the specific requirements of each product. Adherence to all factory rules, especially those pertaining to safe chemical handling, lock-out tag-out procedures, and guarding are integral to the job.

Major Duties of the Position:

1. Receive and inspect incoming raw materials while completing all the necessary documentation both in paper form and in the Aptean operating system following defined processes and SOP’s.

2. Control raw material inventory from Warehouse location and delivery to production floor, following cycle count procedures, and stock rotation methods to provide production support by ensuring required ingredients are accounted, staged, and/or tempered to specifications.

3. Anticipate needs on floor to ensure production does not run out of ingredients or packaging.

4. Stage ingredients for the following day’s production and notify Supervisor of any shortages.

5. Assemble and load finished product to pre-determined distribution centers, accurately recording information into Minotaur.

6. Coordinate shipments of incoming and outgoing raw ingredients, packaging materials and small parcel deliveries and returns.

7. Effectively control CHEP and plastic pallets throughout the factory and distribution system where applicable.

8. Ensure compliance with all existing and new SOP’s, Audit, MSS, GMP, and HACCP requirements.

9. Actively participate in continuous process improvement initiatives.

10. Maintain a work area that is clean and organized.

11. Other duties as assigned.

Job Specifications:

1. Grade 12 education with emphasis on mathematical skills.

2. Good communication skills, both verbal and written.

3. Ability to handle multiple job requirements and work with minimal supervision.

4. Competent operation of all product movement equipment, pallet walkies, counterbalance and double-reach fork trucks and required attachments.

5. Successful completion of lift truck training course and maintain a clean driving record.

6. Effective team player.

7. Computer skills and working knowledge of Minotaur would be considered an asset.

8. Ensure compliance to Quality and Food Safety requirements within the scope of the position.

Working Conditions:

Physical Effort:

- Lifting 10-50lbs. frequently.

- Range of motion: floor to waist level.

- Walking / standing – continuously.

Physical Environment

- Exposure to 80-95 Dba

- Slippery floors

- Temperatures from 0-85˚F

- Wearing of personal protective equipment/clothing.

- Regular exposure to Video Display Terminal

Sensory Attention

- Moderate to high

GENERAL COMMENTS:The successful candidate is completely familiar with the operation of the factory to coordinate the work group activities to support the factory operational goals and satisfy the customer’s requirements.

Pay: $25.00 per hour
