The Warehouse/ Driver Operator will ensure efficient and effective collection and delivery of materials to and from customer sites, airlines & airports and other establishments as required in accordance with organizational policy and procedure. To maintain awareness of regulatory reforms to key areas (CAA RACA, MPI, NZ Customs)

Line Manager:Branch Manager

Working Pattern:40 Hours per week, Monday to Friday

Key Role Accountabilities

  • Airside and import / export collections and deliveries
  • Assist with unloading and loading of import and export containers as well as the timely loading and off-loading of own vehicle, ensuring that all freight is accounted for and undamaged.
  • Prepare and submit relevant administration in a timely and accurate manner, e.g. cycle count / stock checks
  • Complete all warehouse picks and put aways within the required KPI timeframes
  • Assist with labelling and palletizing as required.
  • Monitor the receipt, booking in and dispatch of all cargo / goods and record data in accordance with working procedures
  • Ensure all goods received are booked in to Company systems in a timely manner, including PODs etc.
  • Ensure any cargo identified as Known Cargo is carried and handled correctly in compliance with CAA RACA regulations.
  • Ensure freight is screened in accordance with RACA / CAA regulations, handled correctly and Unknown Cargo is isolated and handled in accordance with warehouse SOP procedures .
  • Ensure security obligations are met according to RACA/CAA regulations and compliance. This includes checking delivery driver IDs when receiving any freight and filling out the goods in check sheet, making sure that all warehouse doors are always locked and monitored, ready to challenge any unidentified persons in the warehouse immediately.
  • Ensure warehouse cleanliness and organisation standards are maintained to Best in Class standards.
  • Liaise with line manager to identify any changes in work instructions and / or processes where appropriate, to ensure full compliance when handling cargo / goods.
  • Undertake duties in accordance with defined processes and work instructions
  • Complete 3PL functions in line with customer expectations
  • Assist operational staff with shipment processing in CargoWise and FirstTrac.
  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships alongside internal teams.
  • Understand and meet individual customer needs and requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with all Company policies and procedures, including health and safety policy.

Vehicle checks / usage

  • Carry out vehicle checks and to ensure that assigned vehicle is road worthy.
  • Maintain your vehicle cleanliness and roadworthiness at all times, inside and out.
  • Re-fuel utilizing the correct fuel type and most cost-effective means.
  • Ensure the vehicle is returned to the Company site daily, ready use the next day.
  • Keep fuel cards in a safe place and submit receipts in a timely manner, ideally daily on date of use of fuel card.
  • Maintain vehicle records in line with Company policies

Your Experience

  • Previous airside experience would be advantageous, but not essential. Also experience working in Auckland Airport, including exports / imports experience.
  • Have a Class 1 Licence, with airside driving permit preferred.
  • Customer focussed, with keen attention to detail.
  • Flexible, with the ability work pro-actively using own initiative.
  • Proven communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Previous experience dealing with varied customer base and building strong relationships.
  • Ability to consider several possible options and decide on most appropriate method
  • Strong commercial awareness, understands impact of actions.
  • Be a proficiency user of Outlook, Word and Excel as well as bespoke systems.
  • Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR Class 1 to 9)
  • Forklift Licence
  • RACA
