About the Role:
This role is responsible for operating wastewater treatment plants and associated reticulation facilities to ensure effective and compliant treatment processes. As a Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator, you will play a vital role in ensuring wastewater is treated safely and efficiently before being released into the environment. You will be responsible for monitoring and adjusting treatment processes, ensuring compliance with environmental regulations, and responding to operational issues in a timely manner. The role involves working both independently and as part of a team, often in remote locations or during emergency situations that require quick thinking and problem-solving skills.
Key Requirements:
- Full NZ driver’s licence
- Must be willing to undertake training and achieve relevant qualifications
- Ability to assess risks related to personal safety, public health, and the environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure
- Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office, electronic systems)
- A National Certificate in Wastewater Treatment is desirable
- Mechanical or electrical trade experience is desirable
