About the role
The primary function of the role is to drive the effective administration of EGW’s drinking water quality management system (DWQMS) and the water and wastewater sampling and analysis program. This includes management of laboratory and audit reports, accessing and updating databases and communication with operational staff. The role also supports ad-hoc water quality sampling, as well as investigations into water quality events, responding to customer complaints and enquiries in relation to drinking water.
Key Responsibilities:
Administer and maintain the Water Information Management System (WIMS) database.
Review and manage water quality laboratory reports and analytical results.
Coordinate reactive and unplanned water quality sampling and testing.
Investigate water quality exceedances and escalate issues as required.
Respond to customer water quality complaints, enquiries and incidents.
Monitor and support corrective actions arising from DWQMS audits.
Liaise with contract laboratories and attend regular review meetings.
Support delivery of water quality training and staff capability development.
Coordinate routine water and wastewater sampling programs and schedules.
Undertake water quality sampling, analysis and emergency response testing.
Manage sampling equipment, stock, maintenance and sampling point upgrades.
Develop and improve water quality data management, reporting and audit systems.
Prepare water quality reports and maintain accurate records and documentation.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives, special projects and regulatory readiness.
Promote a positive safety culture, compliance, teamwork, diversity and confidentiality practices.

- This role has been classified as per our Enterprise Agreement as a Band 2 -3.5 role, $56,902.59 - $83,811.38 per annum
- Plus 12% employer superannuation contribution. We reserve the right to remunerate successful candidates within the span of this classification dependant on demonstrated skills, experience and qualifications.
- Shortlisted applicants may be required to undertake a pre-employment medical and National Police Check.

KEY SELECTION CRITERIA
- Minimum Certificate or diploma in a relevant field or relevant experience in water industry, environment, scientific, engineering or technical role.
- Demonstrated knowledge of resource management systems or relevant risk management systems such as Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) or equivalent.
- Time management skills and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and individuals at all organisational levels.
- Demonstrated skills and experience in data management, including use of databases and preparing reports.
- Problem solving and a pro-active approach to delivering outcomes relating to water treatment, wastewater treatment and reuse.
- A positive attitude towards personal development including being accountable, innovative, passionate and united to achieve corporate and team objectives.
