Join our WIC Breastfeeding Support Team!

Help make a difference for new mothers: Assist them in learning how to breastfeed effectively.

A typical day for a lactation consultant includes:
Conducting assessments, interventions, and providing education about breastfeeding to families who have chosen to breastfeed their infants. Assisting with WIC staff concerning breastfeeding mothers. Thoroughly documenting all educational sessions and interventions delivered to breastfeeding families.

Supporting WIC staff in their competencies and education related to breastfeeding.
Overseeing the breastfeeding staff.

The WIC Program currently has offices located in Toms River, Lakewood, and Manahawkin, NJ.

At present, the WIC Program operates on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. On Wednesdays, the WIC Office is open from 10:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must hold a valid certification as a Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) from the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners.

A Bachelor's or Master's Degree is preferred.

A minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience is required, and familiarity with the WIC program is a plus!

LICENSE: Candidates must possess a driver's license that is valid in New Jersey.

Full-time position with a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, prescription, and pension plans.

Part-time and per diem positions are also available (full-time preferred).
