Workers Compensation Defense Attorney

Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Workers' Compensation Defense Attorney with at least 1.5 years of dedicated experience California's Workers Comp Defense System, defending employers, insurance carriers, and TPAs . You should be comfortable managing a high-volume caseload in a fully remote, paperless environment and have a track record of handling cases from inception to resolution. Bonus points if you have significant doctor deposition and trial experience.

Duties

• Represent clients in all aspects of workers' compensation defense at WCAB hearings, conferences, and trials.
• Take ownership of a full caseload, driving claims toward efficient and favorable resolutions.
• Conduct legal research and draft motions, settlement agreements, and other legal documents specific to CA workers' compensation law.
• Represent employers/insurers at WCAB hearings
• Take and defend depositions
• Draft and argue motions
• Negotiate settlements
• Manage a caseload of active claims
• Conduct legal research on WC-specific statutes and case law
• Communicate regularly with adjusters and clients about case strategy and status

Qualifications

• 2 -​ 10 years of experience California workers' compensation defense experience.​
• Must have CA workers' compensation defense experience.​
• Experience appearing before the California WCAB.​
• Experience taking and defending depositions.​
• Experience with doctor depositions is a major plus.​
• Education
• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.​
• Active license with the California State Bar.​
• Proficiency with dictation software and paperless workflows.​
• Trial experience (first or second chair).​

Pay: $100,000.00 - $272,000.00 per year
