About Strescon

Established in 1963, Strescon Limited has grown to become the largest precast, pre-stressed concrete manufacturer in Eastern Canada. Its primary market covers the Atlantic Provinces, the New England region of the United States, and Bermuda. Strescon manufactures a wide range of both architectural and structural precast/prestressed concrete products including bridge girders, wall panels, complete parking garages, hollow-core planking, piling and deck slabs. Strescon presently has two facilities: 70,000 sq. ft. in Saint John, New Brunswick and 50,000 sq. ft. In Bedford, Nova Scotia.

In addition to our engineered precast facilities for custom components, Strescon also operates a 32,000 sq. ft. facility in Saint John which manufactures standard concrete products for engineered drainage systems, such as pipe, manholes and catch basins.

Responsibilities

• Manage the precast and pre-stressed concrete product yard to ensure profitability targets, quality, safety standards and schedule commitments are met
• Identify processes and implement improvements that support the organizational goals
• Design load lists for products leaving site on flatbed trailers
• Organize crew efficiency to meet targeted budgets
• On-time movement and yarding of products from plant in an assisting manner to production
• Coordination and cooperation in working with sub-contractors with regard to scheduling prompt delivery of products
• Use of proper product yarding techniques in regard to rigging and storage methods
• Demonstrate leadership by example
• Share knowledge with others to assist in promoting a better-trained workforce
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Preference will be given to candidates with past experience in the concrete industry
• Previous experience with warehouse/ production facility and experience using a computerized software package for coordination purposes is a definite asset
• Strong knowledge and understanding of construction drawings is important
• High attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills are essential
• Proven ability to work well in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment
