The Accommodation Manager will report directly to the General Manager / Managing Director. Our cohort of students is largely international, and we work in a diverse, multicultural, inclusive and equitable environment, that is busy, fun and provides lots of opportunities to learn.
The Accommodation Manager is responsible for the provision and allocation of accommodation for students attending Galway Business School / Galway Cultural Institute. This includes the provision of residential / flat share / host family / B&B / hotel etc. and sourcing other and new accommodation options as required. It includes the implementation of all company, statutory and legal requirements in relation to the provision of accommodation as well as other ancillary and administrative work that may be required from time to time not specifically related to accommodation.
They will ensure that there is an adequate supply of accommodation options throughout the year particularly during peak periods by careful planning, initial and regular inspections, accurate record keeping, and status updates for management and team members. They will also ensure that the accommodation offering is optimised and meets occupancy levels required particularly in relation to residential or other rented accommodation options.
The Accommodation Manager will ensure that all accommodation types are fit for purpose and properly maintained and monitored, have the necessary equipment as well as organising frequent visits, liaising regularly with landlords, host families and other accommodation providers.
The Accommodation Manager is responsible for matching and allocating the most suitable accommodation option for the student, usually their first preference, and in the event of that being unavailable, the next best option. They are also responsible for booking suitable accommodation for visiting partners and other stakeholders.
The Accommodation Manager will ensure that clear and accurate information is provided to all stakeholders in relation to the type of accommodation offered and ensuring that all arrival and departure requirements are properly organised. They will review profiles of host families and descriptions of accommodation on a regular basis and keep the CRM updated.
It is the responsibility of the Accommodation Manager to process with management the monthly payments for host families and residential accommodation in a timely manner as well as ensuring that all accommodation suppliers are paid when they are due.
The Accommodation Manager is responsible for overseeing the quality assurance and enhancement of accommodation provision and informing management of accommodation types which fail to meet standards and suggesting suitable solutions.
The Accommodation Manager will meet students– either individually or in groups on arrival and departure including being on-call as scheduled.
Other duties will include processing enquiries, bookings and other services as well as administrative duties, marketing and sales duties etc. both in the company’s offices and off site and dealing with any work to do with the business of the school as effectively and efficiently as possible
Person Specification
The Accommodation Manager will have keen human, interpersonal and digital skills, be detailed focused and able to plan carefully and effectively as well as show a great deal of initiative and leadership. The role requires a team player, an empathetic personality who is hard working, takes pride in their work and has an ability to meet targets in a timely manner and be able to work well under pressure and ensure that the student experience is optimised
Pay: €30,000.00 - €38,000.00 per year
