Job Title: Accounts Assistant / Accounts ExecutiveOverview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant to join our growing team. The role will support day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accurate record-keeping, timely reporting, and effective credit and supplier management using Odoo ERP. A minimum of 3 years experience or a qualification as an Accounts Technician or Bookkeeper is essential. Please include a cover letter with the application.
Key Responsibilities
1. Accounts Receivable & Credit Control
- Manage customer accounts and maintain accurate ledgers within Odoo
- Perform credit control duties, including:
- Monitoring aged receivables
- Chasing overdue payments via email/phone
- Resolving customer account queries
- Bank Reconciliation
- Allocate incoming payments and reconcile customer accounts
- Prepare and issue customer statements
- Processing Sales
2. Accounts Payable & Supplier Management
- Process supplier invoices and ensure accurate entry into Odoo
- Perform 3-way matching (Purchase Order, Delivery, Invoice)
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain supplier records and ensure data accuracy
- Assist with onboarding new suppliers
3. Bank & Payment Processing
- Perform daily/weekly bank reconciliations in Odoo
- Prepare payment runs (online banking/manual payments)
- Ensure proper approval workflows are followed
- Record and reconcile all outgoing payments
4. Reconciliations & Financial Accuracy
- Perform regular reconciliations, including:
- Bank accounts
- Customer and supplier ledgers
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
5. Month-End & Reporting Support
- Assist with month-end close processes
- Prepare supporting schedules and reports
- Prepare VAT Returns
- Ensure all transactions are posted accurately and on time
- Support external accountants or auditors when required
6. Systems & Process Improvement
- Use Odoo effectively for all accounting functions
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows and automation
- Assist with system enhancements and internal controls
Requirements
Essential
- Experience in a similar accounting or finance role
- Strong understanding of:
- Credit control
- Supplier reconciliations
- Invoice matching
- Payment processing
- Experience using ERP systems (Odoo experience highly desirable)
- Strong Excel skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
Desirable
- Accounting technician qualification (ATI, ACCA, CIMA, or similar – part-qualified acceptable)
- Experience in a fast-paced operations or fulfilment environment
- Familiarity with Irish accounting and VAT requirements
Key Skills
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent communication skills (especially for credit control)
- Problem-solving mindset with attention to detail
Pay: €40,000.00-€50,000.00 per year
