About the Opportunity

This is not just a support role—it is an important part of building a strong, consistent classroom environment. Assistant Teachers play a key role in supporting lead teachers, maintaining routines, and helping create a safe, engaging space for children to learn and grow.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Lead Teacher in daily classroom activities and routines
• Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized classroom environment
• Supervise and engage with children in a positive and nurturing way
• Assist with lesson activities and transitions throughout the day
• Build positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers
• Help ensure compliance with all licensing and safety requirements

Qualifications

• Experience working with children preferred, but not required
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and positive attitude
• Ability to work well as part of a team
• Good communication and organizational skills
• Passion for early childhood care and development

Must meet Iowa DHS requirements, including:

• CPR & First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Mandatory Child Abuse Reporter Training
• Background checks and required clearances
• Ongoing training as required by the state

Job Type: Full-time

Base Pay: From $11.50 per hour
