Position Summary
As a key member of the Carhive sales team, the Automotive Business Manager’s role is to drive vehicle sales while providing the best possible customer experience. This position is responsible for overseeing the full sales and financing process, developing and maintaining strong customer relationships, and supporting the dealership’s sales goals through effective deal structuring and product presentation.
The ideal candidate is a results-driven professional with proven experience in the subprime automotive market, strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, and a deep understanding of financial services and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the complete financing process for vehicle purchases, including reviewing credit applications, securing approvals, and finalizing contracts.
- Support dealership marketing initiatives by leveraging digital and social media tools to drive lead generation and customer engagement.
- Present and explain financing options, warranties, protection plans, and other value-added products to customers in a transparent, ethical, and engaging manner.
- Follow-up on sales leads while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate and organized records including credit applications, deal jackets, billing invoices, sales reports, and compliance documentation.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to resolve operational or administrative issues promptly and effectively.
- Monitor key performance metrics to identify opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, product knowledge, and evolving compliance standards within automotive retail.
Core Competencies & Skills
- Finance & Insurance Expertise: In-depth understanding of automotive F&I products, credit structures, and lending requirements.
- Subprime Market Experience: Proven track record of success working within the subprime automotive sector.
- Sales Acumen: Strong ability to close deals, identify upselling opportunities, and build trust with customers.
- Digital Marketing Knowledge: Comfortable using digital platforms and online advertising tools to enhance visibility and attract qualified leads.
- Relationship Management: Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Organizational Strength: High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Team Collaboration: A proactive team player who works effectively with sales, operations, and management to achieve dealership goals.
- Problem Solving: Resourceful and adaptable when addressing customer or operational challenges.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience as an Automotive Business Manager or F&I Manager
- Digital marketing and lead generation skills
- Experience with advertising/marketing on social media platforms
- Strong knowledge of the subprime automotive financing market preferred.
- Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding sales and profit targets.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Proficiency with CRM systems and MSOffice Suite. Zoho knowledge an asset.
- Experience with PBS an asset.
- OMVIC certification (or willingness to obtain).
