Glenlo Abbey Hotel and Estate is located on the bank of Lough Corrib on a 138-acre estate with the original 18th century manor house dating back to the 1740's. The Hotel comprises of 74 guest bedrooms, 11 Luxury Lodges, Corrib Room (catering for meetings, events, and weddings for up to 170 guests), River Restaurant, Palmers Bar and Kitchen, Oak Cellar Bistro, Pullman Restaurant (an original Dining Carriage from the Orient Express), Glo Spa & Wellness, 9 hole Championship Golf Course and a 21 bay driving range.

The Candidate:

The ideal candidate for this role will be a confident, organised person who has excellent attention to detail and customer care skills. A flexible attitude towards shift work is essential as midweek and weekend work is involved.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensuring that the cocktails and beverages are created to exceptional standards.
• Collaborating with the Beverage team to create new cocktails and keep our cocktail offering current, fresh and on trend.
• Be focused on guest service and the guest experience.
• Reflect and enhance the hotel’s standards and objectives in all activities
• Ensuring a highly efficient and organized bar set up and mise en place.
• Provide support where necessary in other areas of the hotel.
• Assist in the food and beverage service of other areas of the hotel when necessary.
• Ensure the cashiering function is carried out according to the agreed standard and that all items are charged for.
• Strive to have a good knowledge of food, cocktails, wines, coffee, cigars, etc. and be passionately able to describe and make informed suggestions to guests.
• Successful candidates for this job will:
• Have experience within a similar role in a the luxury restaurant or hotel.
• Have in depth knowledge of cocktails, spirits and service, being able to create an approachable environment for our guests to try new cocktails
• Be aware of how to create an atmosphere with in the bar and meet five star standards of service
• Be fluent in spoken English.
