Billing Coordinator Job Description
A Billing Coordinator is responsible for managing and overseeing the billing process within an organization. This role involves ensuring accurate invoicing, maintaining billing records, communicating with clients regarding payment issues, and facilitating the timely collection of receivables.
Key Responsibilities
- Invoice Management: Prepare, issue, and review invoices for accuracy and compliance with company policies and agreements.
- Account Reconciliation: Perform account reconciliations to ensure discrepancies are identified and resolved promptly.
- Payment Processing: Process and record payments received, maintaining accurate records of transactions in the billing system.
- Client Communication: Communicate with clients regarding billing inquiries, payment issues, and discrepancies, providing timely resolutions.
- Data Entry: Enter and update billing information in the financial system, ensuring that all records are accurate and up-to-date.
- Reporting: Generate and distribute billing reports to management and relevant departments, providing insights into receivables and outstanding balances.
- Collaboration: Work closely with sales, finance, and customer service teams to ensure smooth billing processes and address any issues that arise.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies related to billing and invoicing processes.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field (relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree).
- Experience: 2-4 years of experience in billing, accounts receivable, or a related financial role.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in invoicing and record-keeping.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with clients and internal teams.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Pay: $6,231.77 – $14,566.83 per month
