The Exchange Brewery in Niagara-on-the-Lake is currently looking for a passionate and driven person to fill the FULL-TIME position of Brewer on our team.

About the brewery:

The Exchange is a brewery and tasting room located in Niagara-on-the-Lake’s Old Town heritage district. Although the town is known as the heart of Ontario’s wine country, it is also the scene of a burgeoning craft-brewing industry. With brewing and agricultural roots that stretch back to the late 1700s, Niagara-on-the-Lake is the perfect home for The Exchange’s approach to brewing, which blends traditional and modern techniques and equipment.

We focus on making exceptional craft beers using only the highest quality ingredients, including local Niagara fruits. Our selection includes a range of hoppy American styles, European Lagers and a unique barrel program for our sour and funky Belgian-style beers.

Our brewery houses a 10BBL brewhouse with 5 fermenters and 8 serving vessels running straight to our draft lines. The cellar is equipped with 2 large German-made Hungarian oak foeders and barrels from local wineries used for our wild and sour beer production.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

• Wort production, cellar operations and packaging
• General brewery cleaning as per SOPs
• Washing and filling kegs
• Bottling, canning, labeling, and preparing products for transport
• Transporting products to our warehouse, distributors and Niagara licensees with Sprinter van
• Loading trucks, moving barrels and other materials with standard forklift (training will be provided)
• Draft line cleaning and training our taproom serving staff on new beer styles

Candidate Qualifications:

• 1 year of brewing or winemaking experience highly encouraged
• Must be able to lift and move with ease up to 40 kg
• Must be able to work on your feet for extended periods and comfortable working at heights
• Must be tolerant of variable working conditions (heat/cold/humidity)
• Must be committed to the team and a safe work environment
• Must have a valid Driver’s License
• Legally authorized to work in Canada
