The Cashier is responsible for providing excellent customer service while accurately handling cash, card, and other forms of payment. The role involves operating the point-of-sale (POS) system, processing transactions efficiently, and maintaining a clean and organized checkout area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Greet customers warmly and respond to their inquiries.
- Operate the cash register or POS system to process sales transactions.
- Handle cash, credit/debit cards, and digital payments accurately.
- Issue receipts, refunds, or exchanges as per company policies.
- Count and balance the cash register at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness at the checkout area.
- Assist with stocking shelves or displays when needed.
- Bag or package purchased items carefully and efficiently.
- Follow company procedures for handling returns, voids, and price overrides.
- Report any discrepancies, errors, or suspicious transactions to management.
- Provide information on products, promotions, and store policies.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous cashier or customer service experience preferred.
- Basic math skills and ability to handle transactions accurately.
- Familiarity with POS systems is a plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be honest, reliable, and punctual.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
