Introduction:
About the role
We’re embarking on a major upgrade of the Castlemaine Water Reclamation Plant, delivering Best Available Technology and Techniques across every stage of design, procurement and delivery. Delivered through a Design, Build, Operate and Maintain model, this project represents one of the most significant investments in regional water infrastructure in decades.
As Construction Manager, you will oversee all on-site construction activities, ensuring they align with Coliban Water’s objectives, technical standards and a non-negotiable safety-first culture. You’ll be responsible for delivering works safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards while overseeing teams, managing resources and driving excellence throughout the project.

Key responsibilities
As our Construction Manager, you will be responsible for:
Safe and compliant delivery: Overseeing all on-site construction activities, ensuring works are delivered safely, to specification, on time and within budget.
Project execution and coordination: Leading construction teams, subcontractors and suppliers to achieve efficient, high-quality outcomes.
Stakeholder and relationship management: Acting as the primary site contact and maintaining clear, proactive communication with all project partners.
Risk, governance and reporting: Managing budgets, identifying and mitigating risks, and ensuring accurate and timely project reporting.
Operational collaboration: Working closely with operations teams to ensure smooth commissioning, integration and transition of works with minimal disruption.
About you
You will bring:
Proven experience in construction management, ideally within water infrastructure or with a solid understanding of water treatment plant operations.
Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, project management principles and industry best practice.
Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across teams and stakeholders.
Demonstrated capability to manage competing priorities, solve problems effectively and adapt to changing project requirements.
A thorough understanding of safety and environmental regulations relevant to construction and water sector projects

Salary:
The salary and conditions for this position will be as per the Coliban Water Enterprise Agreement 2021 Band 5 ($115,162 - $148,079 plus superannuation) salary range will be offered to the successful candidate commensurate with their skills and experience.
